Indonesian economist Indrawati is in the middle of her second term as Indonesia's finance minister. She served in the role from 2005 until 2010 and was reappointed to the role in 2016.

In between her terms as Indonesian finance chief, Indrawati was the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of The World Bank.
While at the World Bank, she used her platform to promote gender equality.

Indrawati has received praise in her current role for how she has reformed the tax system and navigated through multiple crises, including the Covid pandemic.
